(CHAPLEAU, ON) – On August 8, 2015 Chapleau Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call of missing 54 year old male. Officers attended the area of 18 Mile Rapids on the Chapleau River where the missing male was last seen. The empty red 14-foot aluminum boat was recovered.
North East Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), North East Region Canine, the OPP Helicopter and the Underwater Search and Rescue Team (USRU) were all called to assist.
On August 10th, 2015 Alain Bouillon, 54, of Chapleau was located in the water and pronounced dead at the scene,
The investigation is continuing and no foul play is suspected at this time. A post mortem is scheduled.
