Orillia Weekend Update

(ORILLIA, ON.) – Over the past weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 177 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.

There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarms, 911 hang-ups, motor vehicle collisions, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints and Impaired drivers.

On August 16, 2015 at approximately 6:44 p.m., the Orillia OPP was dispatched to reports of a possible impaired driver on Holcroft Road in Severn Township. Officers located the vehicle and the male drive was arrested after failing a road side breath test.

Jacob ROBITAILLE, 23 years old of Penetanguishene, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia court on September 8, 2015.

On August 17, 2015 at approximately 2:16 a.m., an Orillia OPP officer conducted a traffic stop on Peter Street North in the City of Orillia. The male driver was arrested at the scene.

Shawn LEQUYER, 42 years old of Orillia, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia court on September 8, 2015.
