(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police are currently investigating several break and enters to residences on Rush Creek Line just west of Imperial Rd, Township of Malahide.
The first break and enter occurred sometime overnight between 12:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on August 16th, 2015 while the homeowners were asleep in their bedroom.
Suspect(s) entered the residence via an unlocked door inside the attached garage. Once inside the residence the suspect(s) stole a black HP laptop computer , a pair of Nike Shock shoes, and a multitude of other items.
A shed on the property was also entered and camouflage hunting jackets, a competition crossbow and aluminum case for the bow were taken.
Items taken;
1. Black HP Pavilion Laptop with 15.6” screen
2. Logitech computer mouse
3. Wireless Microsoft keyboard
4. Logitech sub-woofer speaker
5. Polarized camouflage sunglasses
6. Socket set
7. Black Pellet gun
8. Several canvas camo bags
9. Camp cot
10. Two 16’x20’ tarps
11. Gerber knife silver in colour
12. Outdoor Canada knife camo colour
13. Nike Shock Shoes size 12, black with red trim. Valued at $160
14. Jennings FX Compound Cross Bow black in colour that was in a large aluminum case. Both items together valued at $2300
15. Several pieces of clothing
16. Package of Number Seven regular cigarettes
OPP Scenes of Crime Officers attended the scene and Property Crimes Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
The second break and enter occurred around 3:00 a.m. on August 16th, 2015 and police believe it to be linked to the other break and enter on Rush Creek Line, Malahide Township.
Again suspect(s) entered the residence via an unlocked door while the homeowner was asleep. Once inside the residence the following items were taken;
1. Black Berry Cell phone
2. Visa card
3. Debit card
OPP Scene of Crimes Officers attended the scene and Property Crimes Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
Several unlocked vehicle were also entered in the area that same evening. Police believe these entries to be linked to the break and enters.
