(PEMBROKE, ON) – On August 18, 2015 members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call regarding a shoplifting incident in progress at the Walmart in Laurentian Valley Township. A male was observed by Walmart staff exiting the store with electronics and candy that they did not pay for. The suspect, who left riding a bicycle, was arrested in the parking lot by police and the merchandise was recovered. As a result Eric Jason PARISIEN, age 20 of Pembroke, is charged with one count of Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code. PARISIEN was found to be already facing charges of Mischief Under $5000 in regards to an unrelated matter. PARISIEN was held for a bail hearing on August 19, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
