(MCMURRICH/MONTEITH TWP, ON) – On Sunday August 23, 2015 the Almaguin Highlands Detachment and the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Central Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator (TTCI) investigated a single All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) collision.
The collision occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Fisher Creek Road, near Selina Drive when the driver lost control of her ATV, causing it to roll over on the victim and into the ditch. The victim was wearing her helmet at the time of the collision.
The victim, Jessica COUPLAND, 12, of Caledon, Ontario was taken to hospital by Muskoka Emergency Medical Services (EMS) where she was pronounced deceased.
A post mortem will be conducted on Monday August 24, 2015.
