(Prince Edward County, ON)— On August 23, 2015 at 2:13pm officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County detachment responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of County Road 1 and Highway 62, in the Ward of Hallowell. OPP were assisted by Quinte Hastings Paramedic Services and the Prince Edward County Fire department.
The police investigation revealed that a motor vehicle travelling westbound on County Road 1 struck a motor vehicle travelling southbound on Highway 62. Two occupants were transported to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
A male driver, 85 year-old Alois PONSTINGL of Picton was charged with Traffic on a Through Highway—Fail to Yield, contrary to Section 136(2) of the Highway Traffic Act.
