Drug Charge At RIDE

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at approximately 12:17 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check at Collingwood Street and Toronto Road, Flesherton, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The driver of a GMC Sierra pick-up truck, who had stopped at the R.I.D.E. checkpoint, had been drinking alcohol and smoking marihuana. A small quantity of marihuana was turned over to police. The driver registered in the “Warn Range” on a roadside breath test. During the investigation, it was learned that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for drug-related charges by Bruce Peninsula OPP. The driver was arrested and transported to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment and was later turned over to Bruce Peninsula OPP.

31-year old Tamas SABO of Guelph, Ontario was charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance- Cannabis Marihuana – under 30grams under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, October 1, 2015.
