(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 31 calls for service on Monday August 31.
Domestic and Family Disputes
Renfrew OPP officers responded to two domestic disputes and one family dispute on Monday. No criminal offences occurred.
Theft
A flag was stolen from a property on Albert Street in Arnprior overnight on Sunday August 30. There are no suspects.
A kayak was stolen from a residence on John Street S in Arnprior on Monday at 3:30am. A neighbor observed a male enter a backyard and steal the kayak. Bolt cutters were used to remove a lock holding the kayak to a fence. The suspect was wearing a red jacket and fled in a white pickup truck with a cap. Provincial Constable Walid Kandar is investigating.
Gas was stolen from Robbin’s Confectionary on River Road in McNab Braeside on Monday at 4:09 pm. The male driver of a green Pontiac Sunfire (2002-2005) pumped fuel into his car and then left making no attempt to pay for the gas. The male is described as tall, 19 or 20 year old, medium length blonde hair that stuck out of a ball cap. The car is further described as having no rear licence plate, with the word PUFF written on the back in duct tape, the rear bumper was held up with duct tape on the passenger side and numerous ball caps in the rear window. The vehicle left travelling west bound on River Road. Provincial Constable Jeff Cassidy is investigating.
Stunt Driving Charge
On Monday August 31 at 1:09 pm Sgt Derek McLeod stopped a speeding vehicle on Highway 17 near Bruce Street. While conducting radar enforcement the officer spotted the suspect travelling at 159 km/hr in a posted 90 km/hr zone. Ryan DAVIS 19 of Ottawa was issued a summons for court in Renfrew on September 18 charged with stunt driving. The vehicle he was operating was impounded for 7 days, and his licence was suspended for 7 days.
