Youth Charged After Bike Collides With Vehicle

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On Friday, September 4, 2015 at approximately 3:23 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a dirt bike in the Township of Southgate.

A 1979, 100 cc Suzuki RM dirt bike was being operated southbound on a trail south of Main Street East in Dundalk. The dirt bike entered the roadway and collided with a 2010 Chevrolet ML1 vehicle which was travelling east bound on Main Street East.

The operator of the dirt bike, a 16 year old Dundalk youth, was taken to hospital with a serious injury to his foot.

He has been charged with careless driving and driving an off-road vehicle with no licence under the Off Road Vehicles Act (ORVA).
