(COLLINGWOOD, ON) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a male in Collingwood after receiving information of a person in possession of a firearm.
On the 7th of September 2015 shortly before 9:00pm, OPP officers were informed by witnesses that they observed a male outside a residence on Peel Street in Collingwood in possession of a firearm. Officers attended the location and were able to make contact with the male inside the residence who was taken into custody a short time later. Investigation also led to the seizure of two replica rifles (pellet guns) and a small amount of marihuana.
Charged is 59 year-old Murray SPICHER of Collingwood, he is charged with possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purposes and possession of cannabis marihuana under 30 grams. He was held for bail court this morning in Barrie.
