(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at approximately 5:53 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an erratic driver operating a Ford van southbound on Hwy. 6 near Grey Rd. 25 in the Township of Chatsworth. Information was received that the suspect vehicle was at times driving southbound in the northbound lane, swerving over the road and at one point had driven into the ditch.
Police stopped the suspect vehicle, a 2001 Ford Windstar van, on Hwy. 6 south of Grey Rd. 12. The lone driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to an OPP Detachment where she was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert Officer who determined that the driver was impaired by drug.
Kimberley SMITH, 50, of Owen Sound was charged with driving a motor vehicle while impaired by drug.
She is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, October 15, 2015.
