(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from the City of Kawartha Lakes located two impaired drivers in the Fenelon Falls area on the weekend as a result of traffic stops.
The first vehicle was stopped on September 19 just before 1 am. After an initial investigation the driver, Matthew LIAM, 19 years of age of Newmarket was arrested for Drive While Ability Impaired by Drug contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused will appear in Lindsay court on October 22, 2015.
The second vehicle was stopped on September 19 just after 9 am. After an initial investigation the driver, Joe COX, 52 years of age of the City of Kawartha Lakes was arrested for Drive with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused will appear in Lindsay court on October 22, 2015.
