(NAIRN CENTRE, ON)- On September 26, 2015 at approximately 10:39 p.m., officers from the Sudbury/Espanola Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a threatening incident at a property situated on Minto Street, in the Town of Nairn Centre.
As a result of the investigation and with the assistance of the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), police executed search warrants and seized weapons and drugs with the drugs having an estimated value of $79,000.00
Dwayne AUSTIN, 52 years of age from Nairn Centre, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
1. Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, contrary to the Criminal Code (CC)
2. Produce a Controlled Substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
3. Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
4. Possession of a Controlled Substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
5. Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition X2, contrary to the Criminal Code.
AUSTIN is being held in custody pending a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury, on September 29, 2015.
Donna PILGRIM, 56 years of age from Nairn Centre was arrested and charged with the following offences:
1. Produce a Controlled Substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
2. Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
3. Possession of a Controlled Substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
4. Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition, contrary to the Criminal Code
PILGRIM will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola, on November 3, 2015, to answer to her charges.
