(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On September 26, 2015 at approximately 9:00 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a 1998 Ford F-150 travelling slowly and straddling the fog line on Wellington Road 109 then proceeded to turn on to the East Luther Town Line and stopped.
Police approached the vehicle and observed two men dressed in camouflage standing at the rear of the truck with the tailgate open and a female seated inside the vehicle. When asked by police what they were doing they were nervous and their stories were not credible.
Officers observed a large bundle wrapped in a tarp in the back of the pick-up truck with green leafy material sticking out the corner. A strong odour of marihuana was also coming from the rear of the truck.
The two males and female were taken into custody and a search incident to arrest resulted in more that 50 mature marihuana plants being seized.
55-year-old Brent SCARISBRICK, 59-year-old Kevin COLLINS and 51-year-old Patricia COLLINS all of Hamilton been charged jointly charged with Produce Marihuana and Produce Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. They were held for a Bail Hearing to answer to the charges.
