Fatal Collision On Hwy 60

(ALGONQUIN PARK, ON) – On October 3, 2015 at approximately 2:30PM officers of the Killaloe detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious crash between a passenger vehicle and a bus on Highway 60 near Tea Lake Campground.

An eastbound SUV that had pulled onto the shoulder of the road, driven by Jing XU, 51 of Richmond Hill, ON, turned left, across the path of a eastbound motor coach bus, driven by a 61-year-old Scarborough man.

The driver of the SUV died at scene; his three passengers were transported to hospital for serious injuries. The driver of the bus was taken to hospital for injuries. The 53 bus passengers, from the Toronoto area, were not injured and taken from the scene by another passenger bus.

Highway 60 between Highway 127 and Highway 35 was closed for approximately 12 hours and has reopened.
