Good Samaritans Rescue Driver From Smouldering Vehicle

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On October 1, 2015 at 4:48 p.m., Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle roll over, on Bruce Road 14 and Silver Lake Road, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

The investigation revealed the lone driver was operating a grey 2006 Pontiac northbound on Bruce Road 14, when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle entered the east side ditch,causing the vehicle to roll and collide with a hydro pole.

Three people observed the damaged vehicle beginning to smoulder and extricated the 39-year-old driver. The driver was air lifted to Toronto with non-life threatening injuries and was released.
