Fatal Collision – Charge Laid

(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) –Members of the County of Brant, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to Highway #24 South on September 4, 2015 at approximately noon to investigate a motor vehicle collision.

OPP members along with County of Brant Fire and County of Brant Ambulance service attended the scene and located what was originally believed to be a single vehicle collision.

The female driver and sole occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Red 2010 Kia Forte was identified as a 35-year-old Kelly BEAL of Brantford, Ontario.

Police located near the scene a 1999 Ford F350 and have now been determined that the piece of metal that caused the fatal injury came from this pick-up truck.

OPP have charged 64-year-old Brent PARKER of the County of Brant with operating an unsafe motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic act of Ontario.

He is to appear in Provincial Court, Brantford, Ontario at a later date to answer to the charge.
