(HALIBURTON, ON) – On Sunday August 16, 2015 shortly before 6:00pm Officers from the Haliburton Highlands detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a residence on Highway 118 in the Township of Dysart et al to investigate a shooting incident.
When police arrived on scene, they found one male deceased. Another male believed to have been involved in the incident, was later located and transported to hospital. Both males appeared to have suffered gun-shot wounds. The deceased male was identified as Michael CHAPMAN, 62 years old, of Haliburton, Ontario.
The investigation was under the direction of OPP Detective Inspector Rob Hagerman of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
At this time the investigation is closed and no charges will be laid.
