(BRANT COUNTY, ON) –A member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on foot patrol in downtown Paris October 13, 2015 at approximately 11:55 p.m. came upon several youths.
OPP member arrested one of the youths for an unrelated matter. During the arrest the OPP officer located a gun and ammunition inside the youths backpack.
The youth who’s name cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) was charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:
Resisting arrest
Carrying a concealed weapon
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Careless use of a firearm
Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
Possession of prohibited or restricted ammunition
