(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On October 17, 2015 at approximately 4:11 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division (HSD) were conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 109 near Wellington Road 16 in Wellington North Township. A male driving a 2015 Toyota pick-up truck was observed travelling at a speed well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 133km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
36-year-old Adam CHATTERTON of Mapleton Township has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on November 4, 2015 to answer to the charge.
