Petra L. RAMOS – Drunk Driving

(PETROLIA, ON) – On Wednesday October 21st, 2015 at approximately 10:14 p.m., Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to a single vehicle, motor vehicle collision in the area of Fleming Road and Lakeshore Road, Town of Plympton-Wyoming.

Lambton County OPP attended the location and observed a single motor vehicle in a ditch on Fleming Road, just north of Lakeshore Road, Town of Plympton-Wyoming. The lone occupant and driver of the motor vehicle sustained no injuries as a result of the collision. However, investigating officers suspected that the driver may have consumed alcoholic beverages prior to operating the motor vehicle. A road side breath demand was subsequently made to the driver by police that resulted in a “fail”. The driver was then arrested and transported to Lambton OPP – Petrolia Detachment for further breath testing which resulted in readings more than twice the legal limit.

As a result, 50 year-old Petra L. RAMOS of Bright’s Grove, ON was charged with,

Driving with More than 80mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

The accused will appear in the Sarnia Ontario Court of Justice on Monday November 9th, 2015.

The OPP is reminding drivers that any amount of alcohol or other drugs can impair one’s ability to drive. Impaired driving remains the leading cause of criminal death in Canada.
