Officer Rear-Ends Stopped Vehicle

(PARIS, ON) – Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a collision on Friday, October 24, 2015 at 7:04 p.m. on Dumfries Street in Paris Ontario involving a cruiser and civilian vehicle.

Investigation revealed that the officer was traveling southbound on Dumfries Street when he was unable to stop for a vehicle that braked in front of his cruiser. The cruiser struck the rear of the civilian vehicle.

There were no injuries reported and minor damage to both vehicles.

As a result of the investigation, Provincial Constable Hector Jibbison was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for Following Too Closely contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He has served with the OPP for 13 years.
