(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On October 25, 2015 at approximately 10:35 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 21 near the Fourth Line in Centre Wellington Township. A male driving a 2008 BMW was observed travelling westbound at a speed well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 138km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
36-year-old Christopher Costa of Kitchener has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on January 6, 2016 to answer to the charge.
