Ax Wielding Repeat Offender Robbing Drug Store Quickly Arrested

(INGERSOLL, ON.) – On October 27, 2015 at approximately 8:17 p.m. Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to the report of a robbery at the Shoppers Drug Mart located on Thames Street in Ingersoll.

Investigation indicates that a male wearing a mask approached employees demanding drugs, when confronted by employees the male presented an axe with the demand. Police responded to the scene and confronted the male who fled on foot, but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody without incident.

33-year-old Brian KRALL of Ingersoll has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with the following:

· Robbery

· Disguise with intent

· Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

· Breach of Probation (2 counts)

· Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

The male was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock.

Oxford County Criminal Investigation Unit, Oxford County Street Team and the OPP Forensic Identification Unit are assisting with the investigation.
