(WARKWORTH, ON) –On November 3, 2015 at 8:55am Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a two car head-on collision on County Road 30 north of County Road 29. Both vehicles were occupied by the driver only.
County Road 30 at County Road 29 north to 1st Line West was closed to traffic for approximately 5 hours to ensure the safety of the investigating officers and emergency personnel at the scene. The roadway is now open to traffic.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) assisted detachment officers with the investigation.
As a result of the collision, a 77 year old female from Warkworth was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, a 67 year old female from Campbellford was transported to hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
