On August 3, 2015, Waterloo Regional Police Service arrested Donald Way, 51, from Tiverton for the robbery of the CIBC on Ottawa Street North. The male was charged with one count of robbery.

August 1, 2015,at 12:15pm, a male entered the CIBC located at 1020 Ottawa Street North, in the City of Kitchener. He approached a teller and demanded money. An undisclosed amount of money was taken and he was observed fleeing the scene in a newer model green SUV. No weapon was seen during the incident and no one was physically injured. The suspect is described as a white male, 40 – 50 years of age, 6 feet tall, heavier set with salt and pepper brown hair.
