Chatham-kent Daily News Release – August 16, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 97 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested.

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE)

Last night, officers conducted RIDE spot checks in Tilbury. A total of 40 vehicles were stopped with one Highway Traffic Act violation and one 3-Day License Suspension issued.

Man Charged with Domestic Related Offences

On August 15, 2015 at approximately 4:00pm police attended a residence on Baldoon Road in the City of Chatham in response to a domestic disturbance. A man and his girlfriend had recently separated and the male was attending the residence to pick up some belongings. While at the residence an argument started and the female was assaulted. The male had left prior to police attending the home.

The 21 year was later located in Chatham and arrested for five counts of domestic assault. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Liquor Offence

On August 15, 2015 at approximately 6pm police located a male party intoxicated on McFarlane Avenue in Chatham. The male had a minor cut on his forehead from a fall due to his intoxication. The 58 year old male was treated by medical staff for his injury, taken into police custody and then held until sober as he was unable to care for himself.

Man Charged with Liquor Offence

On August 15, 2015 at approximately 8pm police attended an apartment complex on Westcourt Boulevard in Wallaceburg. An unwanted person was located in the common grounds of the residence. He was unable to care for himself and was subsequently arrested. The 22 year male was held in police custody until sober.

On August 16, 2015 at approximately 2am police attended the area of Ann Street in Thamesville. Police were called due to a disturbance on the street. A male was located who was unable to care for himself. For his safety, the 18 year old male was arrested and held in police custody until sober.
