Hit And Run – Cyclist Struck

On September 9, 2015 at 2:26 p.m., the Guelph Police investigated a hit and run collision involving a vehicle and cyclist. The cyclist was travelling northbound on Gordon Street approaching Wellington Street in the bicycle lane. A truck was also northbound and turned right onto Wellington when the collision occurred.

The truck is described as a GMC quad cab, newer model and will have damage to the right rear. The driver is described as female, approximately 60 years of age. She was alone in the vehicle.

Give the Kids a Brake

On September 9, enforcement was in the North Riverside neighbourhood in the morning and in the Exhibition Park neighbourhood in the afternoon. A total of 46 Highway Traffic Act charges were issued, 41 of which were for speeding. Other charges were for red light fail to stop, distracted driving and equipment offences. Police will continue to have increased enforcement in school zones so slow down, be aware of your surroundings and give the kids a break.
