Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – October 14, 2015

Woman Charged with Theft CK15031014

Last night around 6:30 p.m. police responded to the Real Canadian Superstore on St. Clair Street in Chatham for a shoplifting complaint. A woman was caught stealing a small amount of food.

The 32-year-old Wallaceburg woman was charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. She was released pending a future court date of October 30, 2015.

Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK15031042

This morning, just before 1:00 a.m. police responded to a noise complaint at an apartment in Ridgetown. Through investigation, police learned that the tenant was currently bound by conditions to reside at a residence in Thamesville and obey a curfew.

The 44-year-old man has been charged with two counts of failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman Charged with Assault CK15031008

Last night around 5:30 p.m. police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham. Through investigation, the man reported that he had been assaulted by his wife during an argument three weeks prior.

The 64-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with assault. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Stolen Vehicles in Wallaceburg

CK15030942 – Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspect(s) stole a black 2006 Chevrolet Silverado from a residence on St. Clair Parkway. Yesterday afternoon, the truck was located abandoned in a corn field on Bush Line.

CK15030943 – Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspect(s) stole a grey 2004 GMC Sierra Duramax diesel truck from a residence on Janssens Street. Last night, the truck was located on Bruce Street.

CK15030948 – Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspect(s) stole a red 1996 Dodge Ram pick-up truck from a business on Herbert Street. The truck did not have any license plates attached to it and has yet to be found.
