Dog Bite In Owen Sound – Police Seek Owner and Dog

Owen Sound Police Services wish to speak with a man in relation to a dog bite which occurred in the area of 4th Avenue East and 9th Street East at approximately 9:00 o’clock Wednesday evening.

A 30 year old woman reports that while walking her boyfriend’s bull dog southbound in the 900 block of 4th Avenue East, a leashed large black German Shepherd or similar breed dog lunged towards her. Apparently unable to control the large dog, the man was unable to prevent it from biting the woman’s right thumb. The woman attended the emergency ward of Owen Sound’s Grey Bruce Regional Health Services for wound care.

The man and large black dog left the area without offering assistance. The man is described as being in his mid 30’s, clean shaven, tall and slim, wearing a dark hat.

The Owen Sound Police Service would like to speak with the owner to determine if the dog’s vaccinations are up to date.
