Fatal Collision Update: Deceased Identified

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On November 3, 2015, at approximately 4:52 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with the assistance of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit, investigated a fatal motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Road 63 and the 8th Concession B in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

Investigation revealed that a 2007 Lincoln Town Car, which was travelling westbound on 8th Concession B, failed to stop and collided with a 2014 Dodge Ram pick-up truck which was travelling southbound on Road 63.

The driver of the Lincoln Town Car, 85-year old Burton HALE, of the Municipality of Grey Highlands, was pronounced dead at the scene by the attending Coroner. A passenger inside his vehicle, a 21-year old male from Grey Highlands, was transported to a local hospital where he was air lifted to a hospital in Toronto with serious injuries. There are no updates as to his condition at this time.

The driver of the Dodge Ram pick-up truck, a 19 year old male from Grey Highlands, was not injured.

The investigation is continuing.
