Suspended Drunk Driver Caught Near St.Marys

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) – On Thursday November 05, 2015 shortly after 1 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle on Road 130A North of St.Marys.

While speaking with the lone male occupant of the Dodge Caravan, the officers detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage being emitted from his breath. A roadside breath test was administered which the driver failed. The driver was taken to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville, where he also failed Intoxilyzer breath tests.

47-year-old Peter Roy SULLIVAN of Thorndale has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offence:

– Driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood

He has also been charged with the following Highway Traffic Act of Ontario offence:

– Drive while under suspension

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on November 23, 2015, where he will have to answer to the charges.

His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his motor vehicle has been impounded for a period of seven days.
