Two Vehicle Collision Claims Life Of Canadian Soldier

(ESSA TOWNSHIP) – At approximately 3:30 pm, 27 November 2015, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), received information of a two vehicle collision at the intersection of the 5th Line of Essa and Centre Street, Angus.

A westbound pick-up truck disobeyed a stop sign and proceeded through the intersection at the 5th Line at Centre Street, striking an eastbound SUV. The force of the impact caused the SUV to enter the south ditch of Centre Street.

Master Corporal David Anderson of CFB Borden, age 45 years, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pick-up truck was transported to a local hospital, examined, and released.

OPP accident reconstructionists attended the scene along with members of Canadian Forces Base Borden.

The investigation is continuing with charges pending.
