Carl WAKEFORD – Impaired Driving

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On December 5, 2015 at 7:37 p.m., a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to a traffic complaint on Emily Street in Parry Sound. A male was seen turning sharply and squealing his wheels. Police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The officer determined the driver had consumed alcohol. Police investigation and a search of the vehicle led to the seizure of cannabis marihuana.

The driver, Carl WAKEFORD, 37 years of age from Seguin Township, was arrested and charged with:

Driving while ability Impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol and drug) contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).

Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams as per the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

Fail or Refuse to provide sample contrary to the CC.

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on December 17, 2015 to answer to his charges.
