(WAWA, ON) – On December 15, 2015 at approximately 12:15 am members of the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious person at a local business.
As a result officers made an immediate patrol to the scene and located a small compact automobile with an unconscious male slumped in the driver’s seat.
Investigation revealed that the male had consumed alcohol.
As a result Denis Gille MELANSON (40 ) of Hamilton New Brunswick was arrested and charged with the following offences;
Adult Care or Control While Ability Impaired by Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Adult Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample contrary to section 254(3) of the C.C.C
A 90-day driver’s licence suspension was issued and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused was released from custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Wawa on February 8, 2016.
