(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – On Saturday December 19th, 2015, shortly before 7:30 p.m., a concerned motorist called police to report the concerning driving behaviour of a snow plow on Highway 11 in the area of Doe Lake Road. Members of Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment patrolled the area and located the snow plow at 8:00 p.m. on Winhara Road in Gravenhurst in the ditch.
Police conducted an investigation and subsequently charged 44 year-old Shane JOUDREY of Huntsville with Impaired Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle CC 253(a), Over 80 Care and Control CC 253(b) and Having Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle with an Open Container of Liquor LLA 32(1).
The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 12th, 2016 to answer to his charges. The accused received an immediate 90 day driver’s licence suspension.
Police value the continued involvement and support of members of the public who take the time to report the unusual or suspicious behaviour of motorists. Many impaired drivers are taken off the road, and potentially lives saved, as a result of these calls.
