(TOWN OF PENETANGUISHENE, ON) – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle on January 1, 2016 in the afternoon in the Town of Penetanguishene, ON.
During the stop, the officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol and subsequently conducted a roadside test which resulted in a ‘Fail”. The male driver was arrested and taken to Southern Georgian Bay Detachment for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, Brant Michael MACDONALD (age 34) of Penetanguishene, ON has been charged with:
Driving While Ability Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Drive While Suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Operate Motor Vehicle no Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
The driver also had his licence suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland, Ontario on January 14, 2016
