(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Friday, January 15, 2016 at approximately 7:35 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report a vehicle being driven erratically northbound on Hwy. 6 in the Township of Chatsworth. The vehicle was said to have been swerving and travelling well below the posted speed limit.
Police stopped the suspect vehicle, a 2004 Chrysler Intrepid, on Hwy. 6 near Grey Rd. 40, and found that the lone driver had been drinking alcohol. After failing a roadside breath test the driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment for further breath tests which he failed.
Kevin CAVANAGH, age 54, of Owen Sound, was charged with operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on February 4, 2016.
