(Douro-Dummer Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) assisted a disabled vehicle on Highway 28 just before 1:30am this morning.
The elderly couple had driven the car until it ran out of fuel and parked partially on the shoulder of the road. The officer discovered that the couple had left their Toronto address around 3:00pm for a drive with no real destination in mind. They were disoriented and thought that they were in the Pickering area.
Further investigation revealed that the couple had been reported missing, by concerned family members, to the Toronto Police Service. The family was reunited at the Peterborough OPP detachment earlier this morning.
