(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On January 29, 2016, at 9:25 p.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call of intoxicated male that had just left a residence on Hillside Drive. The male was on foot. A short time later, police received a second call of an intoxicated male laying on the road near the junction of Pearson Drive and Dump Road. The caller assisted the intoxicated male off the road onto a snow bank and waited for police to arrive. Investigation revealed this male was the same individual that who had left a residence on Hillside Drive.
The 17 year old male, from Bracebridge, Ontario was charged and issued a Provincial Offence Notice for: Being intoxicated in a Public Place, contrary to section 31(4) of the Liquor Licence Act.
The accused was lodged at Elliot Lake detachment until he was sober.
FEMALE CHARGED BREACH OF PROBATION
(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On January 29, 2016, at 10:04 p.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were called to a disturbance at an apartment on Spruce Street. Police attended the residence and observed a female in the residence who was on probation with several conditions.
The 40 year old female was arrested and charged with: Breach of Probation (X2), contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice, Bail Court in Sault Ste. Marie, on February 1, 2016.
MALE CHARGED WITH ASSAULT
(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On January 30, 2016, at 2:48 a.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), received a call service of a 16 year male that was acting irrationally. The male was damaging property at a residence on Washington Crescent and had assaulted another male.
The 16 year old male was arrested and charged with:
Assault with a Weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code;
Mischief Unser $5000, contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code; And
Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on April 5, 2016.
