(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On January 29, 2016 at approximately 9:01 a.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) was conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Concession 4 in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a female driving a 2016 Mercedes at a speed well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 134 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
19-year-old Clara CHAN of Scarborough has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. She is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on March 2, 2016 to answer to the charge.
