(Napanee, ON)- On January 31, 2016 an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police Highway Safety Division, conducting traffic enforcement, charged two people for operating their vehicles at speeds 50 km/h over the posted speed limit near Napanee.
At 9:26 a.m. a Chevrolet Cruze was stopped travelling at 173 km/h on Highway 401 west of Napanee. A 23 year-old Ajax woman had her vehicle seized for seven days and was issued a seven day drivers licence suspension.
At 10:57 a.m. the same officer stopped the driver of a Dodge Charger travelling at 157 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on County Road 4 in Loyalist Township. The vehicle was seized for seven days and the 33 year-old female driver from Tamworth was issued a seven day drivers licence suspension.
Both women were issued summonses to appear in Provincial Court in Napanee on February 25, 2016.
On February 1, at 12:20 a.m. an officer with the Napanee detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police stopped the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu travelling at 158 km/h on Highway 401 near Napanee. The driver, a 55 year-old man from Maple, was issued a seven day licence suspension and his vehicle was seized for seven days.
He is scheduled to attend Provincial Court in Napanee on February 18, 2016.
