(Prescott ON) At approximately 7:30 pm on February 10, 2016, Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Churchill Rd. in the Town of Prescott. It was reported a pickup truck had barely missed striking a pedestrian before hitting a hydro pole on Churchill Rd. The grey, older model pickup left the scene of the accident and was last seen heading northbound on Edward St.
While police patrolled the area another call was received with a witness reporting that an older grey style pickup truck heading westbound on the 401 Highway had just spun out of control, hitting the median before ending up in the ditch on the north side of the 401. (MM701)
No injuries resulting from the collisions.
At approximately 7:50 pm police arrested a 29 year old male from Augusta Township. He was charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fail to Remain, Impaired Driving, Exceed .08 and Possession of Marihuana.
He is to appear in Brockville Court at a later date.
