(South Dundas) – On February 23, 2016 at approximately 1:07pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a snowmobile collision on a trail in the area of Sullivan Road, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that two (2) snowmobiles traveling together each struck a ditch off of the trail portion.
One of the adult male drivers, Justin PETERSEN (26) of Ottawa, Ontario was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other male driver, a 36-year-old male from Manotick, Ontario was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
SD&G OPP officers, assisted by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) continue the investigation.
FIREARM SEIZED
(North Glengarry) – On February 23, 2016 at approximately 10:32am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a youth in possession of a firearm at a property in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. The male youth (13) was intercepted and the firearm seized without incident. No injuries resulted.
An investigation continues, charges are pending.
