Armed Home Invasion – Four Arrested

(TAY TOWNSHIP) – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial police (OPP) responded to call of a break and enter at an Alberta Street residence in Port McNicoll, Tay Township on February 23, 2016 at 11:21 p.m.

Officer’s attended the scene and spoke to the two male residents. It was learned that a male suspect had broken into the home and confronted these two with a weapon. An altercation took place at which time the suspect was injured. Three other suspects were in a vehicle outside the residence but departed prior to police arrival. Police located and stopped the suspect vehicle a short time later and the three males were arrested.

The injured suspect was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators have charged four males in connection to this incident.

Charged is James Scott BOWES (age 26) of Barrie, ON with:

Fail To Comply with Probation Order

Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Probation Order

Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Robbery Using a Firearm

All charges are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Also charged is Cody Luther FERRIER (age 22) of Barrie, ON with:

Robbery Using a Firearm

Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous purpose

Disguise with Intent

Pointing a Firearm

Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm

All charges are contrary to the criminal Code of Canada

Also charged is Tyler Wyatt HOWELL (age 25) with:

Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Robbery Using a Firearm

All charges are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Also charged is Andrew Peter POLIMENEAS (age 28) of Barrie, ON with:

Fail To Comply with Probation Order

Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Probation Order

Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Robbery Using a Firearm

All charges are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

All accused were held for a bail hearing and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on February 24, 2016.
