Road Rage Incident – Suspect At Large

(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On February 23, 2016, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a report of mischief after an unknown male driver had damaged the victim’s vehicle in an act of road rage.

Investigation revealed that at approximately 6:10 p.m. on February 23rd, the victim was operating a 2004 Dodge CSX vehicle eastbound on Sykes Street, Meaford, in the Municipality of Meaford. He had stopped for a red light at the intersection of Sykes Street South and Trowbridge Street, at which time the driver of the vehicle stopped directly behind him, approached the victim’s window and began yelling at him for driving too slow. The suspect proceeded to punch the window several times and had kicked the side view mirror, damaging it. The suspect returned to his vehicle and was last seen driving eastbound on Hwy. 26 towards Thornbury.

The 24-year old victim from the Township of Chatsworth was not injured.

The suspect was described as a tall male having red hair (balding) and a red beard, approximately 30 to 40 years of age, wearing a black jacket and jeans. He was driving a blue, newer model, hatchback style vehicle.
