(DUFFERIN COUNTY, ON) – Dufferin OPP are offering the following helpful tips when dealing with door to door salespersons;
First, you do not have to deal with a salesperson, or let a salesperson inside your residence.
If you tell anyone to leave your property, they must comply.
If they don’t leave, call police. Don’t let the salesperson start their pitch until you have seen photo ID.
Get the name of the business and the name of the salesperson.
Don’t sign on the spot. If the salesperson pressures you to sign on the spot, don’t.
Shut the door or insist that you need additional time to read and understand the agreement.
Fully understand the agreement before you sign anything;

Are there any other costs?
Are there fees if you cancel the agreement?
