(ST.MARYS, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the owner of a dog that bit a male.
On Monday March 07, 2016, at approximately 7 p.m., a male was out for a walk along the River View Walkway near the tennis courts on Water Street in St.Marys. The male met two females one appeared to be middle aged, while the other was in her 20’s. The women were walking a large dog off the leash. The dog was black and white in colour and appeared to be a Sheppard mix. It answered to the name of “Piper”.
The dog bit the male and unbeknownst to him at the time, the bite punctured the skin and caused bleeding. The male contacted police and sought medical attention. The Perth District Health Unit has been notified of this incident.
The owner or anyone knowing the owner’s identity is requested to contact the Perth County OPP immediately. Contact with the owner will allow a determination as to the vaccination records of the dog. The Perth County OPP can be contacted at 1-888-310-1122.
