(Napanee, ON)- On March 9, 2016 at 12:25 a.m. an officer with the Napanee detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a green SUV for speeding on Highway 401 westbound, near Napanee.
The driver of the SUV was subsequently arrested for impaired driving.
As a result of the police investigation 25 year-old John SHUMELDA of Toronto faces Criminal Code charges of impaired driving, dangerous driving and take motor vehicle without owner’s consent.
He also faces Highway Traffic Act charges of driving under suspension x 2, and stunt driving (over 50 km/h over the posted speed limit).
He was held for a bail hearing in Provincial Court in Napanee.
