(Bancroft, Ontario) – During the late afternoon on the 10th day of March 2016, police officers from the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) had occasion to stop a vehicle on Highway 62, just south of the town of Bancroft. While dealing with the driver of the vehicle, police obtained grounds to believe that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver provided a breath sample into an approved roadside alcohol screening device, and failed.
The driver was arrested and brought back to the Bancroft O.P.P. Detachment, where he provided a breath sample to a qualified intoxilizer breath technician.
Charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood is 68 year old Gerald Scott Gray of Bancroft. He was released on a Promise to Appear Notice with a first appearance date of the 22nd of March 2016, in Bancroft Criminal Court.
